Preparing for the Midterm-comparative essays
Today we discussed Zinn's "Chicano Men and Masculinity" and Espititu's "All Men Are Not Created Equal: Asian Men in U.S. History," and began thinking about the similarities as well as differences between these two readings/masculinities. These two readings, as well as Theroux's "The Male Myth" and Marable's "The Black Male: Searching Beyond Stereotypes" will be on the final. I have paired up the readings and e-mailed these to you along with a Venn diagram which you must fill out for Friday, Oct.22 class. You may either complete the Venn diagram using one of the reading pairs on your computer, save it on a flashdrive/e-mail it to yourself, or you can print it out, and complete it by hand. This will be collected, so make sure to complete this activity as it will help us review for the Midterm exam.
