I do think that dominance fits a male better than a female. I can't really say what a male should and should not be, but i do think dominance is more for males than females.
I agree with Natalia. If a female were to be dominant it wouldn't look right, since society is used to seeing women as more fragile. Fragile doesn't mean strong and it doesn't mean dominant either.
HELL NO! I disagree 100% with this logic and with Natalia and Glenda. Women are equally capable of making correct decisions whether it be at home, at work or any other place for that matter. Who says dominant roles are better suited for men? Women have proven to be quite dominant and persevering themselves such as Hillary Rodham Clinton( Secretary of State), Dilma Rousseff (President of Brazil) and the list goes on. Here is a link of all the women in power (you'll have to copy and paste the link) - http://www.filibustercartoons.com/charts_rest_female-leaders.php
I agree with Natalia and Glenda. Their physical power makes them dominant naturally and women contribute in this dominance as they seek protection from men which automatically give them the sense of power and dominance.
It depends on the meaning of dominant. Based on the responses I was forced to ask myself if you mean physically dominant or psychologically dominant. Both man and woman can make rational and irrational decisions and one might even consider how some man think with their brain and woman with their heart.
I do not think that males should be the dominant sex, because if we look back on history, a road of misery, wars, destruccion and mass murders were commited by males against humanity itself. What I do think is that men and women could share the same world without killing each other and coexist in harmony.
YES. MEN SHOULD BE THE DOMINANT SEX! well, actually no, but they are. It sounds corny when I say it but all you have to do is look at the position of power in the world, and it is clear that men dominate over women (it is more clear in more impoverished nations). Not that they should, there should be more balance. Fairness. Ultimately a progressive society is to be determined by the fairness of distribution within a system. Multiple factors limit people from achieving that goal, however. It stems from theological, pragmatical, and operatic impediments. People are dismissive, though, so it's difficult to surpass the general skepticism.
in my opinion i would take john's word and put it how i see it.physically men should be stronger than women, because by nature they were made stronger to protect what is physically more fragile and psychologically women tend to be more dominant then men, because they can influence men's feelings and desires easier.
It depends on what the dominant sex is defined. But for my upstanding, I don’t think males should be more dominant sex. Men may play an important role in some dominant positions in the society or at home. They may give a person an image that they are in charge. It doesn’t mean that they should be more dominant. Instead, nowadays, more and more women get in dominant positions too. Some of them also have more power over men at home. In other words, I think men and women all have chance to be dominant in public or at home.
i also say it depends on what dominant is. When it comes to cirtain things i believe yes men will always be dominant when it comes to physical strength because men are more physical. When it comes to women they can be dominant when it comes to the house chores (just playing). I think it depends on what you mean by dominant sports and physical strength i believe men are dominant and should be.
I do think Males should be the more dominant sex but not to over shadow a woman's contribution to the world we live in. Men have certain advantages over women that help shape the world we in. But if we keep a balance between the two sexes and not refer it as "dominance" we could have less conflict when dealing with who should be leading in the world because of strength and intellect.
I think male should be the dominant sex. Because men are much stronger than the women. Sometimes woman can be week, they are sensitive, emotional, if something happen they are the first one to cry. But on the other hand men don’t show there weakness. They are not sensitive, they can make a hard decision so easily, and they don’t get emotional very often. So I think men should rule the world.
I do think males should be the dominant sex. By dominant I mean making better decisions and making a better society. They shouldn't take advantage of their strength and torture women or any other person.
While I see Harlin, Natalia M., Glenda and Bushra's point, and this absolutely comes in handy when women want to be treated like ladies on dates, pronouncing men as the dominant sex is a stereotype in itself. We are basically saying that women are weak and need protecting; therefore, any man who is not physically strong and dominant is not a man? Stereotypes are a tricky beast. Here Johnn and Steven's responses pose a good contrast- are we talking about dominance as physical strength or dominance as power. Cristhiam makes an excellent point about women having a great amount of control- desire is one interesting aspect of this. But as Claudia, Richard and YingYing note- in the larger context, globally and socially, men seem to be loosing ground, to women or other men? Masiel and Deshawn suggest that the two sexes share power which contrasts with Anthony's nomination of men as candidates for Mr. Universe. But as Sandro quite aptly notes, men like war, destruction and their macho approach has landed us in hot water, many times.
