If any of you are looking for suggestions on what to write about in your Blog Post #5 due tomorrow, consider one of the following:
-Espiritu begins and ends his article on Asian-American men with discussion of Asian-American women. Why? Find his thesis and discuss how this strategy/approach to organizing his article reveals something(identify that something) about Asian-American masculinity.
-Both Marable and Espiritu discuss women, Black and Asian, respectively, in their articles. Why? How does this contribute to their analysis of Black and Asian masculinity, respectively? In other words, what role do women play in constructing masculinity and is it important?
-Can the experience of internment camps, discussed by Espiritu, be compared to slavery, as Marable presents it? Why or why not? If these are comparable, how did these two event impact/shape masculinity of these two groups of men?
